Meet Yvette
I’m Yvette Kinkade, a children’s author with a real soft spot for curious minds, small wonders and big adventures.
I write picture books and middle-grade fiction inspired by the things children notice, question and often see before the rest of us do.
I'm drawn to stories that help children feel seen, stay curious and look a little closer at the world around them. Some stories grow from curiosity and imagination. Others are shaped by lived experience and the things that stay with us.
You’ll often find me keeping a hopeful eye out for a native bee or two and rarely far from a coffee that woos me.
I’m also partial to a day driving at the race track, which is about as far from quietly writing picture books as it sounds.
